Working closely sister companies Solar Car Parks and PV Structures and with the end clients, both SMSA and PVS were tasked to design, engineer, fabricate and install both a 6 Array, 374kW Solar Car Park for the club, and also another 1,400sqm of standard traditional covered car park shade, over 4 other structures at the club.
Being in the unique position of being the only shade structure company in Australia delivering consistent, high level, projects in both traditional car park shade and solar car park shade across the country, Shade and Membrane Structures / PV Structures were naturally the only choice to complete this project.
This project also allowed Shade and Membrane the opportunity to further develop and evolve the connection and adjustment detailing of the Eco framed solar car park structure, allowing for greater accuracy and straightening during install, which is essential to creating a level plain for the solar panels to sit.
Taking into consideration the cyclonic conditions of the region, along with the trying to create some aesthetic similarities between the 2 completely different structure types, Shade and Membrane set about mixing steel members shapes and sizes, as well as painted finishes, to mask the obvious differences in the structures, creating a final cohesive look to the project that all parties were ecstatic with at the end of the project.
