Castle Plaza Vicinity Shopping Center – Solar Car Park Shade Structures

Client: PowerPark
Location: Edwardstown - South Australia
Job:

Project Manage the installation of an approximately 1mW Solar Car Park Shade Structure system including footings and structures

Shade and Membrane Structures Australia and our sister company PV Structures were contracted to offer an on site Project Management and installation services for the delivery of the solar car park shade structures on this project.  Unfortunately, early on in the project it became obvious that both the head contractors project management abilities and skill-sets were lacking and our client’s fabrication abilities  were struggling under the enormous size and complexity of the project. The project timeline moved from a 4month completion to well over a year.  SMSA and our guys from PV Structures, worked to continue installing the structures through shocking ground conditions, terrible weather, trying times, and non payment of invoicing, to ensure that our services and part of the project were completed to the highest standard.

Even after all of the above, we were able to successfully complete the majority of our part of the project, before leaving site due to lack of payments for works completed. This project was completed in tandem with the Elizabeth Shopping Center Vicinity Project and combined we installed close to 4.3mW of Solar Car park Shade Structures, or close to 27,000sqm of covered area, and around 420 footings, which is effectively the largest project of its kind in the Southern hemisphere.

SMSA and our sister companies PV Structures and Solar Car Parks  are outright leaders in the Solar Car Park Shade Structure field.
